Ceiling Fans for High Ceilings
Downrod mounting is necessary for high ceilings.
Plan to allow ceiling fans to hang about 9-10 feet above the floor. For Flat Ceilings no extra care is needed.
Sloped Ceilings: Most manufacturers design their downrod ceiling fans to automatically handle a standard amount of ceiling pitch or slope. This standard amount of slope varies by manufacturer.
Steeply Sloped or Vaulted Ceilings: For vaulted ceilings manufactures can provide Steep Slope Adaptors with finishes to match downrods. The amount of slope or pitch the Adaptor will handle varies by manufacturer.
Manufacturer example - Minka Aire:
- Most Minka Aire downrod fans will automatically mount on a ceiling with a slope up to 18 degrees.
- For ceilings with a pitch (slope) of up to 45 degrees, Minka Aire provides an accessory steep slope adaptor with finishes matching most downrod finishes.
